Plus it helps a lot to be familiar with the dreadnoughts before even thinking about going for this achievement. You'll need your weapons powered up and maybe even some overclocks to make it workable given the amount of damage you'll need to do. This is an achievement you are unlikely to receive until you've been playing DRG for a bit and perhaps have one or two promoted dwarves. Getting cornered by it can be a worse experience though and it has some high damage area of effect (AOE) attacks around it when vulnerable. This dreadnought also spits fireballs, but they aren't as bad as the Hiveguard's. The Glyphid Dreadnought has two phases: the 'armoured' phase, where you have to destroy the (yellow) armour health bar through attacks to the abdomen, and the 'vulnerable' phase, where you can do (red) health damage in hitting the abdomen. Armed with fireballs that can blow some pretty big holes in the ground and is no fun up close either. The Hiveguard has three phases: the 'summon' phase, where it's immune until you kill all accompanying Sentinels, the 'mobile' phase where it attacks you and only these glowing organs will take (yellow) damage, then the 'vulnerable' phase, where its abdomen opens up and you can do (red health) damage that actually matters). If you kill one, destroying the other is comparatively easy, but you will have to be careful about avoiding damage to the surviving Twin while you are taking on the other dreadnought. Better to see what the first dreadnought you spawn is before deciding if you can attempt this achievement. I'm sure it is possible to get the achievement having spawned the Twins, but it's probably not the easiest path. The Twins are widely thought of as the worst type of dreadnoughts to face - they are the fastest, there are two of them and they 'balance out' each other's health at certain points during the fight. The Twins: please note you have to kill both to count as killing one 'full' dreadnought I believe the 30 second period only starts after the death of the second TwinĪs with so much of DRG, these fights are questions of efficiency: can you achieve your goal within the resources you have available to you? You'll need to ensure you have enough resources to resupply and heal between rounds of combat.īe careful in watching some online videos about dreadnoughts - they used to be much easier to kill, so those videos won't be giving you a good idea of what to expect. There are now three different types of dreadnoughts you might face at at October 2021: The best option for attempting this achievement is an elimination mission where you will guarantee at least two dreadnought eggs.
